Committee Meeting & Social Evening

There will be a committee meeting and social evening being held in The Station Hotel on the 7th of March. The committee meeting will start at 7.30pm SHARP. The social evening will start at 8.30pm. Only 1 hour will be given to the Committee meeting. It would be good especially for this meeting, that anyone wishing to race attends this meeting, as there are a few good ideas floating around that need to be addressed.

Spring Training Camp

The Falkirk B.C. Majorca 2008 training/social camp runs from Tuesday 8th to Tuesday 15th April 2008 and will be based at the Hotel Puerto Azul in Porto Pollensa. Flights are with Fly Globespan from Edinburgh to Palma flying out at 8am and returning 3pm. Total cost is approx Ł350 although may vary for new bookings due to fluctuating exchange rates and changing flight costs.

Porto Pollensa is in the north of the island giving easy access to the stunning mountain roads that run the length of the north coast but also the flatter lands to the east and south of the island. The town of Porto Pollensa has a good variety of bars and is very popular with cyclists during the spring months although being early season April is relatively quiet.

The Hotel Puerto Azul is a 3 star hotel offering half board accomodation with the restaurant offering a buffet that will satisfy the hungriest of cyclists. The hotel caters for cycling groups offering secure bike storage, repair areas and a very cyclist friendly approach to the business.

As quality bike hire is readily available those booked so far intend to hire rather than transport their own bikes to Majorca.

Annual Club Dance and Buffet

Saturday 24th November - 7.30pm till 1am

I would like to thank all club members, friends and family who turned out to support the Annual Club Dance. After speaking to many of you I strongly believe a good night was had by all. Special thanks to all who helped on the night with the raffle and presentations and I look forward to organising next years event.

Once again thanks for the good show of support.

CHARITY RIDE

On December the 9th, Craig Moffat dressed in full Santa Suit aiming to ride 100 miles for Carrongrange School. Craig after just 45 miles was feel'n the burn but a big thanks go to all those who helped him get round the 100 miles of pure pain. Special thanks to Tom, Stevie, Martin, Stephen and Big John. The current mark raised is Ł250, plus 2 pieces of big gym equipment have also been donated. A final figure will be updated after Christmas.
