Everyone thought there luck was in Andy Turnbull suffered a double puncture before he had even started the event. Unfortunately for us Martin Coopland brought a spare wheel down for him (Cheers). The event had attracted 31 mean, lean, fighting machines to do battle over a 10 mile course round the outskirts of not so sunny Falkirk, even though quite a few guys and gals thought it was a normal Thursday night (they should check our website for up to date information) they braced the weather and joined in. Two known club members who could not be identified snuck off half way round the course to help a certain Gentleman achieve a very fast time not to Franco’s amusement I may add, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!.
The 10 mile course is pretty flat with a couple of bumps thrown in for good measure, the wind was light and the clouds held there load for enough time to allow everyone to get round dry. In the end Andy Turnbull took 1st place with a new course record of 21.58. Then some guy wearing a jelly bean helmet finished second with James McPake coming in 3rd and it must be added James finished 3rd out of the FBC’s rider and he did not have a time trial bike unlike the guys in 1st and 2nd, Andy were gonna get you next year!! One time that really stands out is Stewart McQueen who beat Franco Porco by just under a minute wow give me what ever he’s using or could this be the guy who had a little help, we just will never know.
On the guest riders David Lines who I am sure I heard saying he was not good at time trials finished 23.03 well done. A big thanks and well done for turning up and supporting our TT night which I would say was a success. Hopefully we will see you all at our mid week race coming up on the 30th of this month.
Thanks again to all the helpers and Ken for putting the prizes up.
To
update riders Stewart McQueen has been disqualified by the commaisaire
due to inappropriate behaviour LOL. After speaking with Lightning McQueen he says he is
devastated and strongly believes he will be re instated after a full enquiry.
